As a proud member of the Spiritualists' National Union (SNU), my practice is grounded in the Seven Principles of Spiritualism, honouring the belief that consciousness continues beyond physical death and that communication with loved ones in spirit is possible.

My Spiritual Journey
I guess spirit always had a plan and it took me a while (58 years) to catch up with their plan.
I’m not one of those mediums who has always seen and heard spirit from an early age. In all honesty I showed no real signs of any mediumistic talent as a child. It all started with a series of “coincidences” fairly late in life that led me to this path. Of course, there are no coincidences as the spirit world work hard in the background to ensure that the right opportunities come along at the right time.
I became an SNU healer almost by accident (I turned up for fortnightly meditation at Fleet Spiritualist Church on the wrong week and sat in on a talk about spiritual healing by their Healing Leader). I was lucky enough to then train at Fleet and serve there as a healer for 3 years. I felt at home.
I discovered I could work on platform as a medium and speaker again almost by accident. I had booked what I thought was a 5 day spiritual retreat in Swansea at the last minute. This turned out to be a platform mediumship course where much to everyone’s surprise, including mine, I was able to give very detailed messages. I felt at home.
At the retreat in Swansea I had a 121 where I was told I would be painting, at which point I said “that’s highly unlikely, I don’t have an artistic bone in my body!” Again spirit knew better than me (and so did Aiden the medium). My daughter gave me an encaustic art set that Christmas (you use an iron to melt wax) and about 2 months into my ‘artistic journey’ with this I realised that I could see images of my father in the wax. Again spirit were working through me to bring me to my soul path. I felt at home.
Some 3 years on and I can now incorporate my spiritual wax art into readings for others as their loved ones come through in the art – I’ve even had a pink parakeet called Rosie appear!
I am now SNU accredited in healing, speaking and demonstrating, Reiki 1 & 2 qualified (healing) and was awarded the Arthur Conan Doyle Award at the SNU 2025 AGM. I have also recently been lucky enough to have studied at the world-renown Arthur Findlay College, Stansted.
I really wanted to share my journey with others and to help them accept themselves and find their own light and soul power. With this in mind and the support of Basingstoke Spiritualist Church we set up a monthly self-development group in the church on a Saturday morning called Positivity Plus. It’s a safe space where through meditation, music, craft and much more people learn to accept their journey and find the light within. We are now in our 3rd year and are very blessed to have such a beautiful group. I am at home.

At 58

They told her she couldn’t and she believed them
They told her she wouldn’t so she didn’t try
They told her she asked too many questions
They told her that she was too shy
They told her she didn’t do well
They told her she didn’t fit it
Surrounded by “friends” but still lonely
Told life would be good if she were thin
Then one day she woke up at 58
And realised that her power was within
That “their” opinions never mattered
And she stopped waiting for her life to begin
She learned to love all her imperfections
She learned to make peace with herself
She learned to pick up the pieces
She learned to ask for help
She realised that light shone upon her
She realised that light shone therein
She realised that she held the power
The power of God from within
So she stepped out and she was amazing
Her soul awakened by God’s loving light
Standing proud for all she believes in
Finally ready to accept her birthright

Don’t Call Me Lazy
I’m not lazy I am neurodivergent.
So before you open your mouth and judge me
Know that it takes incredible effort from me
To seem this lazy to you.
I struggle to get out of bed.
I struggle to brush my teeth.
I struggle to manage my time.
I struggle to sleep
And I struggle to choose healthy options to eat.
I struggle
And it’s exhausting.
Misdiagnosed with depression and anxiety.
Misunderstood.
Underachieving.
I grieve for all the things I could have been.
All the things I could have done
Had I been diagnosed before 61.
So don’t call me lazy.
I go to the kitchen 6 times to get a pair of scissors before I can get out the door.
I lose my keys, driving glasses, shoes and so much more.
My perception of time shifts and I feel the constant pressure
To do everyday things that the ‘neurotypical’ take for granted
And do effortlessly.
Do for pleasure.
I’m not making this up.
It’s not an excuse.
It’s the grind of the everyday
That wears heavily on me.
So don’t call me lazy.
It says nothing about me
But speaks volumes of you.
